Executive Director

Spencer Gelding joined Beit Halochem UK in February 2012 when the UK office was established. With a successful business background in property and jewellery, Spencer has also been heavily influential in the Jewish charity world for over twenty-five years. His involvement in the community began as the Director of Hanoar Hatzioni and was instrumental in setting up Young Jewish Care.  Since joining Beit Halochem, Spencer has helped raise more than £13 million for the four current Rehabilitation Centres in Israel

Communications Manager

Sharonne Durkin joined Beit Halochem UK in November 2016 as Communications Manager for the charity. She ran her own PR business for four years working with consumer and charity clients. Sharonne previously worked for BICOM (Britain Israel Communications) as their media relations manager promoting non-conflict related Israeli news to the British media. She has helped with the communications for a number of Jewish charities.

Trustees

Dennis Levine – UK Chairman

Dennis Levine established Beit Halochem UK in 2012, together with fellow trustee Daniel Naftalin. Dennis saw the need to create awareness of and to raise money for the essential work carried out by the Beit Halochem centres in Israel – an organisation very close to his heart. He is a partner at investment firm, Grovepoint. Prior to joining Grovepoint, he served as Chairman and CEO of Burdale Financial, which he co-founded in 1992.

Susan Kahn – Communications

A trustee since 2014, Susie was first introduced to Beit Halochem at the time of her youngest son, Sam’s Barmitzvah. Sam chose to support the charity as part of his celebrations and she has been actively involved ever since. From her first visit, Susie has been greatly impressed with the range of sport facilities and diverse recreational opportunities available to its members. Since then, the charity has remained close to all the family. She works as a coach, consultant and mediator with a particular interest in the behaviour of people at work, in groups and as individuals – in the joy and the challenges of working life.

Neville Kahn – Treasurer

Neville is a member of the Deloitte UK Executive and the Managing Partner of its Finance Advisory Practice where he advises stakeholders of distressed businesses. Neville is also active in several other community organisations and is both a Freeman and Liveryman of the City of London.

Nathaniel Meyohas – Major Gifts

Nathaniel is the Co-Founder of Greybull Capital LLP, a family investment firm. Nathaniel is a board member and director of British Steel Holdings Ltd, Monarch Group Holdings Ltd amongst others.  He started his career at Lehman Brothers and completed his MBA at the NYU Stern School of Business.

Daniel Naftalin – Legal

Daniel is a Partner at the law firm Mishcon De Reya and Head of the Employment department. He works for corporates, LLPs and senior executives in contentious and non-contentious matters. He has litigated many landmark cases. He set up Beit Halochem UK together with Dennis Levine in 2012.

Orly Wolfson – Major Events 

Orly has been involved in Beit Halochem UK since 2013. She is a former model and spent a number of years living in Israel. Orly is a mother of three young children and has been chairing the Beit Halochem dinner for three years, she has helped to make it the success that it is. To date the dinners have raised in excess of £3M.

Andrew Wolfson – Strategic Partnerships

Andrew is Managing Director of Pembroke VCT. The fund invests in early stage UK consumer brands. Andrew has been a trustee of Beit Halochem since April 2016 and is also a director of Benesco Charity Limited, a trustee of The Charles Wolfson Charitable Trust and Chairman of The Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST).
