13 Feb Wine and Dine Evening
Beit Halochem hosted an evening of great food, superb kosher wine and plenty of good banter at the renowned restaurant One Ashbourne in Temple Fortune.
The wines were introduced by wine connoisseur Tal Sunderland-Cohen who is the Israeli Wine Ambassador, wine educator, writer and consultant. He works closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote Israeli wines around the world. He trains sommeliers and other professionals as well as wine lovers and teaches a university course in Wine Marketing & Branding at Israel’s only wine college.
Throughout the evening the 40 Beit Halochem supporters enjoyed superb culinary delights and fantastic kosher wines from around the world. The evening concluded with a live auction, with the prime lot being a magnum of “Black Tullip” 2011 signed by the late Israeli President Shimon Perez. The evening raised a staggering £21,500 with all the proceeds going to the Beit Halochem Scholarship Programme for Excelling Athletes. These scholarships aim to support, encourage and motivate those veterans who have qualified to take part in international competitions and the Paralympic Games as well as those who have shown that continued sports activity has contributed to their rehabilitation.
