As part of their Shabbat UK celebrations, Mill Hill Synagogue hosted Beit Halochem Veteran and Elite Swimming Champion Hanoch Budin.
This year, Mill Hill Synagogue chose Beit Halochem as their chosen Israeli charity to support for which we are very grateful. Hanoch, who was injured during the 1982 Lebanon War, spent Shabbat with the community including a 300-strong Friday night dinner where he participated in a Q&A session with Rabbi Schochet.
He also addressed the community on Shabbat morning and attended their conclusive Havdallah Service. It was an uplifting Shabbat and one we will remember for a long time.
During his visit he was the guest speaker at a special event in West London we put on especially for students in collaboration with The Pinsker Centre and addressed Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue’s regular Rabbi’s breakfast on the Sunday Morning.
